Bunners for Runners

In high school running, girls race almost exclusively in spandex. However, in college, briefs, or "bunners" as we call them, become the predominant style of bottoms for uniforms. Wearing buns is optional, but it can feel like somewhat of a right of passage to switch to the more revealing uniform. Read more as to why bunners can actually improve our performance!

The transition from being an athlete in high school to college is huge. Training is harder, days are busier, and what we wear is different. In cross country running, girls go from wearing shorts and spandex to predominantly “buns” for the bottom of racing uniforms.
