The cat’s out of the bag. Allyson Felix is back.
Felix retired from the track in 2022, 19 years after she made her first World Championship team in 2003. After over two decades in the sport—decades which spanned three sponsors, 14 gold World Championship medals, and the birth of her daughter, Camryn.
But now, she’s launching “Project 6” and making a bid to make her sixth Olympic games in LA 2028.
She’ll be 42.
No American sprinter has ever qualified for the Olympics in their 40s.
But that doesn’t scare Felix away. If she’s proven one thing, it’s that limits don’t define her.
Felix gave birth to two kids, battled being dropped by Nike when she was pregnant, and started her own business, Saysh. Felix is fearless.
And she’s changed the game for women athletes who want to be mothers.
Felix has set the tone for women athletes like her. Athletes who became mothers and got left behind by sponsors. Athletes who refuse to let their age stop them from competing.
Athletes redefining what strong looks like.
Recently, there’s been a lot of buzz about pregnancy and professional athletes.
