As women athletes, we stay busy. We don’t have a lot of free time, so we need to make sure we maximize it.
One way to make the most of our time is to choose activities that do double duty by supporting both our mental and physical health. Because mental and physical health are deeply connected. Together, they shape our performance, happiness, and training.
When your time feels stretched, try these activities that support your body and mind, so you don’t have to choose between the two.
Take a walk.
It turns out social media was onto something when the “hot girl walk” trend took off. A short walk gets your blood flowing, which is key for pain management or jump-starting recovery. More than that, a walk sends positive hormones to your brain, releasing dopamine and allowing you to re-center in a busy day. Even a quick lap around the block can kickstart physical recovery and break you out of a mental fog.
