Why We Need to Build Muscle

As girls and women in sport, there's often a stigma around muscles because we might think that we look too "masculine." But we need to build muscle to be the healthiest and strongest athletes possible. We sat down with VIS Expert and strength & conditioning coach, Anna Nelson, to learn why building muscle is important for women athletes and get tangible tips on how we can actually gain muscle.

As women athletes, building muscle is one of the most powerful tools we can harness to help improve our performance. Having muscle mass helps us be more dynamic in our sports and can also help prevent major injuries that could keep us from competing. VIS Expert and strength & conditioning coach, Anna Nelson, explains more about the importance of building muscle as women athletes, and gives us strategies on how we can incorporate muscle-building into our daily training routines.
