(NEW YORK CITY) December 16th, 2022 - VOICEINSPORT (VIS), a global sports company, announces a new partnership with DC Soccer Club, a Washington, DC based youth soccer organization. The largest youth sports program for girls in the city, DC Soccer Club is committed to attracting, retaining, and providing school-age youth of all backgrounds and abilities opportunities to play and enjoy the game of soccer. The two organizations join forces to elevate the journeys of young women soccer players at all levels in the Washington DC area.
Starting at the age of 14, girls begin to drop out of sport at a rate two times that of boys. Further, it is estimated that the dropout rate doubles for girls of color in urban areas when compared to White girls in suburban areas. With strong ties to the Washington DC community and nearly 10,000 players in the league, DC Soccer Club is teaming up with VOICEINSPORT to ensure that their young women players are seen, heard, and have the resources and support they need to remain in sport and maintain their love for the game.
VOICEINSPORT provides girls and women in sport a community and safe space where they have access to services from over 80 top experts in sport psychology, sports nutrition and women’s health, mentorship from 200+ professional & collegiate athletes, and educational content written by women athletes for women athletes. VIS listens to the VOICES of the girls, offering services best suited for them and their unique needs.
The partnership with DC Soccer Club furthers VOICEINSPORT’s mission to keep girls and women in sport and create a safe space with access to resources that support them in their sports journeys. All DC Soccer Club girls players (ages 13+) will be invited to join the VIS community for free, where they will unlock access to educational content, podcasts with Professional Athletes, and a greater global community of athletes, mentors, and experts. In addition, DC Soccer Club will offer organized large-group sessions for players—hosted by VIS Experts and Professional Athlete Mentors through the VOICEINSPORT platform—on topics of mind, body, nutrition, and advocacy. Together, VOICEINSPORT and DC Soccer Club will keep the love for soccer and sport alive among young women athletes in the Washington DC area.
“DC Soccer Club is investing in services and resources that will be game changing for their young women players. We are beyond excited to partner with the coaches, parents and athletes in the DC area as we develop a personalized educational curriculum with our inspiring VIS Mentors and over 80+ VIS Experts in Sport Psychology, Nutrition and Women’s Health.” -Stef Strack, Founder & CEO of VOICEINSPORT
"We are honored to partner with VOICEINSPORT to provide the girls and women of the DC Soccer Club with the opportunity to work with and learn from an organization that advocates for them so strongly. Through the research, education, and advocacy programs they offer, our club will benefit greatly from this relationship.
